Denison quickly jumped out to a 3-0 lead thanks to a pair of Emily Marguerite aces that surrounded an Annemarie Fischer kill.  DU went on to score nine of the next 13 points to take a commanding 12-4 advantage.  During that run, the Big Red served up two more aces, while first-year Kenzie Kuhn hammered down four kills.  The Blue Streaks slowly battled back and eventually trimmed the deficit to 21-19 after a DU serving error.  Denison quickly regained service when Jessica Borsani set up Brittany Perry for a kill.  Borsani went on to serve out the match as DU won the opening set 25-19.

The two teams continued their battle in the third set.  With the score deadlocked at 15-15, Denison made the first run of the set behind a pair of kills and a JCU attacking error.  Playing with a 19-16 lead, Marguerite served up her third ace of the night, while Kuhn extended the DU lead to 21-16 with a kill.  A pair of Fischer finishers and another Blue Streak miscue put the Big Red one point away from clinching the match.  Like the second set, it was the rookie Kuhn that finished things off with another successful attack.

Kuhn and Perry paced the DU offense with 12 and 10 kills, respectively, while Borsani finished with 25 assists.  Marguerite and Blum combined for six of Denison's 10 aces on the night.  Defensively, the tandem of Marguerite and Blum also logged 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
