Denison won its third-straight match, and second-consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference contest, on Tuesday following an 8-1 decision over Wittenberg.
DU held a slim 2-1 edge following doubles play. Senior Sarah Short and junior Alex Marcell knocked off Leah Ann Miller and Georgia Bennett 8-3 at the first flight. At No. 2 doubles, senior Courtney Steiner and sophomore Lilianna Broussalian captured their fifth-straight win after posting an 8-4 decision over Anne Beauch and Kristin Wright.
Short moved to 5-5 at the first singles flight following at 6-4, 6-1 win over Miller. Marcell extended her winning streak to five after a shutout win over Alex Cummins. Broussalian, Kate Westenberger, Heather Abzug and Steiner all logged their third-straight wins in singles play.
The Big Red improves to 4-5 on the year and 2-0 in NCAC West Division play, while the Tigers fall to 7-8 and 0-2 in league play. Denison returns to action on Friday at the University of Dayton. Match time is slated for 4 p.m.
