Box Score Denison closed out the North Coast Athletic Conference schedule with a dominating 3-0 (25-17, 25-11, 25-10) victory over Kenyon on Saturday afternoon in Gambier.
With the win, the Big Red locked up the fourth seed in the NCAC Tournament. Wittenberg will host the eight-team tournament scheduled for Nov. 2-3. DU will open tournament play on Friday, Nov. 2 against fifth-seeded Wooster at 4 p.m.
First-year Kenzie Kuhn paced the Big Red with a match-high 13 kills. Kuhn posted a .722 hitting percentage after converting 13 of her 18 attempts. In addition, the rookie served up five aces and logged two solo blocks.
Also helping the DU cause was first-year Brittany Perry. Perry recorded nine kills and a team-best nine digs, while sophomore setter Jessica Borsani dished out 32 assists.
As a team, Denison registered 10 aces and a season-best .474 attacking percentage. The Big Red totaled 41 kills on 76 attempts with a season-low five errors.
The Ladies were led by Sierra DeLeon's nine kills, while Hannah Shanke had 16 assists. Defensively, McKenzie Mitchell posted six digs.
DU improves to 18-8 overall and 5-3 in NCAC play, while Kenyon falls to 3-17 and 1-7 in league play. Denison closes out the regular season with nonconference matches at Otterbein (Oct. 22) and Earlham (Oct. 26). Both matches will begin at 7 p.m.
