The sixth-ranked Denison University women's tennis team improved to 4-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference following a 7-2 win over Oberlin on Thursday.
All three DU doubles teams posted dominating wins over the Yeowomen. Senior Kristin Cobb and junior Sarah Short notched an 8-1 win at the first flight, while Alex Marcell and Kelsey Geppner recorded an 8-2 victory at No. 2 doubles. The third doubles team of Kate Westenberger and Courtney Steiner capped off the sweep with an 8-3 decision.
Geppner picked up her team-leading 18th win of the year with a 6-1, 6-3 win over Finley Gates at second singles, while Marcell was a 6-2, 6-2 winner at the third flight. Westenberger dispatched Carolyn Ball 6-2, 6-0 at fourth singles, while Caroline Margraf logged a 6-2, 6-4 victory at No. 5.
Denison (12-4) finishes out the regular season with a pair of home NCAC contests. The Big Red take on Allegheny on Saturday (April 16) at 10 a.m. and will close out the season on Tuesday (April 18) against Wooster at 4:30 p.m.
