Hiram improved to 10-1 in North Coast Athletic Conference play and remained in a tie for first place following a 3-0 (25-20, 25-21, 25-18) victory over Denison on Wednesday night from Price Gymnasium.

Denison got nine kills from Lauren Strowder (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) and eight kills from Kristen Hughes (Dowington, Pa./Bishop Shanahan).  Hiram was led by Shaina Bryan who had 13 kills of just 20 total attacks.

Defensively, DU was paced by Lauren Weidner's (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) 12 digs.  Brooke Beavers (Sylvania, Ohio/St. Ursula Academy) chipped in nine digs for the Big Red.

The loss drops Denison's record to 10-16 overall and 6-6 in the NCAC.  They will return to action on Saturday when they host The College of Wooster at 1 p.m.
