Winners of seven out of their last nine matches, Denison is one of the hottest teams in the North Coast Athletic Conference.  Unfortunately, those two losses have come at the hands of one of the hottest teams in the nation, the Wittenberg Tigers.

For the second time this week the Tigers handed the Big Red a 3-0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-12) loss, this time to close out the final NCAC Power Weekend of 2010.  Denison went 2-0 on Saturday, defeating Ohio Wesleyan in four sets and Kenyon in five sets to run their conference record to 6-4.

Today's loss drops their league mark to 6-5 with matches against Hiram, Wooster and Allegheny left on the docket.

In this afternoon's match against Wittenberg Lauren Strowder (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) led her squad with 11 kills.  Lauren Weidner (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) supplied 12 digs and Megan Early (Findlay, Ohio/Van Buren) added three blocks.  Setter Claire Koneval (Solon, Ohio/Solon) ended the day with 22 assists.

Denison will travel to Hiram College on Wednesday (Oct. 20) for a 7 p.m. match with the Terriers.
