Hiram College improved to 19-9 and 11-2 in North Coast Athletic Conference play following a 3-0 (25-19, 25-9, 25-15) victory over the Denison Big Red on Senior Night from Livingston Gymnasium.

Denison battled the Terriers tooth-and-nail in the opening set but the Terriers pulled away for comfortable victories in the second and third sets.  Leading the way for Big Red was senior Sara Mason (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood) who paced DU with eight kills.  Fellow senior Holly Leonard (Evanston, Ill./Evanston Township) chalked up 15 digs and sophomore setter Claire Koneval (Solon, Ohio/Solon) finished with 21 assists.

Prior to the match Denison honored Leonard and Mason as a part of their Senior Night festivities.  One of the top liberos in the conference, Leonard is third all-time in digs at Denison (1,962) and was a second-team All-NCAC pick a year ago.  Mason is a three-year starter at outside hitter and has racked up 694 career kills.  A psychology major, Mason was an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District selection a year ago.

Denison will return to action on Wednesday (Oct. 28) when they host Earlham College at 7 p.m.
