DeVon Price enters his fourth season as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Denison University for the 2023-24 season.

Denison men's basketball finished its 2022-23 season 15-11 overall and 10-6 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. The Big Red also finished in fourth place in the conference during the regular season and advanced to the NCAC Tournament semifinals. In the NCAC quarterfinals, fourth-seeded Denison earned a 65-63 win at home over fifth-seeded Wittenberg University. Denison reached the 10-win mark in the NCAC for the second season in a row. It was the first time Denison has earned at least 10 conference wins in back-to-back seasons since 2017-18.

Denison finished its 2021-22 season with a 13-13 overall record and an 11-7 record in the North Coast Athletic Conference. The Big Red earned the No. 5 seed for the NCAC tournament before beating No. 4-seeded Wittenberg University 62-58 in the quarterfinals to advance to the NCAC semifinals, where they fell to No. 16 nationally-ranked and eventual NCAC Champion and NCAA Final Four participate Wabash College.

In 2020, the Big Red went 5-5 in their shortened winter season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.

"We are really excited to have DeVon join our staff,” said Head Coach Chris Sullivan. “He's a focused and mature young man with a growth mindset and a passion for mentoring student-athletes both on and off the court. DeVon will be a great addition to our program, our athletic department, and the Denison community at large."

Price comes to Granville after spending the last two seasons as the assistant men’s basketball coach at Bluffton University in Bluffton, Ohio. In his two seasons at Bluffton, Price assisted the Beavers to an overall record of 33-20, including an 18-9 mark during the 2018-19 campaign, which equaled the school record for the most victories in a season. Price’s primary responsibilities while on staff at Bluffton were recruiting, player development, strength and conditioning, film breakdown/scouting upcoming opponents, monitoring academics, and day-to-day operations. Price also helped three different players obtain All-Heartland Conference honors over his two seasons at Bluffton, including the HCAC’s first-ever Defensive Player of the Year in Dezman Brown.

Prior to his time at Bluffton, Price was a two-year starter at the University of Rio Grande and was named a captain his senior year after spending his first two years at Saint Joseph’s College of Indiana. Price led the Redstorm in both assists and steals as a junior and senior and also earned the Champions of Character award for the River States Conference as a senior. He was a two-time NABC Honors Court Academic Award and River States Conference Scholar-Athlete recipient.

Price has also volunteered his coaching expertise at many basketball camps across the country, including those hosted by Denison, Rio Grande, Marietta College, University of Tennessee-Martin, University of Dayton, and the Caris LeVert Basketball Academy.

A native of Pickerington, Ohio, Price graduated cum laude from Rio Grande in 2018 with a 3.51 grade-point average and his bachelor’s degree in communication. He also recently obtained his master’s degree in business administration from Bluffton University where he sported a 3.6 GPA.
