Big Red Field is the home of the Denison University baseball program and is widely regarded as one of the premier NCAA Division III baseball facilities in the Midwest. Through continuous improvements and a commitment to providing a first-class student-athlete experience, the venue has become a destination for championship baseball and one of the top collegiate facilities in the region.
The field has hosted numerous postseason events, including the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championship Series in 2007, 2008, and 2010. Since 2022, Big Red Field has also served as the site of five consecutive NCAA Regional Tournaments and three NCAA Super Regional Tournaments, welcoming some of the nation's top Division III programs to Granville.
Over the past two decades, the facility has undergone significant upgrades. In 2022, Denison debuted a new state-of-the-art turf infield, improving playability, durability, and weather resilience. A new brick backstop and protective netting were installed in 2019, while a complete infield renovation and lighted batting tunnels down the left field line were completed in 2015, giving student-athletes enhanced training opportunities throughout the year.
One of the most transformative projects came in 2006 with the installation of four 75-foot, television-quality light standards, making Big Red Field one of the few collegiate baseball venues in Ohio capable of hosting night games. The following year, the facility added a modern press box, concessions stand, and 160 chair-back seats behind home plate and extending down the left field line, significantly enhancing the fan experience.
Today, Big Red Field continues to serve as the home of one of the nation's premier Division III baseball programs, providing an outstanding environment for student-athletes, fans, and postseason competition.
