2023 (Senior):

  • Led Denison with a WHIP of 1.07, three complete games and two shutouts in 13 starts and 14 total appearances
  • Allowed 74 hits, 35 total runs and 26 earned runs while walking just 15 batters and recording 92 strikeouts in 83.1 innings
  • Led the NCAC in earned run average, wins, complete games, shutouts, innings pitched, strikeouts and opponents' batting average at .211
  • Tied for seventh in all of NCAA Division III in wins, was 22nd in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.13), was tied for 22nd in strikeouts, and was 45th in WHIP
  • 10 wins are tied for the most in a single season in program history with Perley Provost (2018) and Cam Cowden (2004)

  • Dominated in No. 13 Denison's 2-0 shutout win over Kenyon (Apr. 8) during game one, throwing 7.2 innings and allowed just four hits while not issuing a single walk and striking out 12 hitters. After a leadoff triple for Kenyon in the top of the second inning, Fleming recorded 11 straight outs
  • Struck out a career-high 13 batters in six innings during Denison's 6-5 season-opening win over Berry (Feb. 24)
  • Limited Hiram (Apr. 23) to just two hits while pitching all seven innings to earn his first complete game and first shutout of the season in a 12-0 win in game one. He struck out seven batters and did not issue a single walk as well. After a one-out single in the bottom of the third inning, Fleming picked off the runner at first base and then retired 13 batters in a row to end the game
  • Named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Div. III Pitcher of the Week (May 10) after throwing the third no-hitter in program history during Saturday's 14-0 nine-inning win over Waynesburg (May 6). Fleming, who logged the 11th-ranked Big Red's first no-hitter since 2005, recorded 15 straight outs after walking the first batter of the game. He finished with seven one-two-three innings and struck out 10. He was named to D3baseball.com's Team of the Week and was the NCAC Pitcher of the Week as well. Fleming is the first Denison baseball player to be recognized as an NCBWA National Player of the Week since Drew Shamrock on April 17, 2005, one day after he threw the second-no hitter in program history vs. Wabash
  • Named First-Team All-NCAC and named the NCAC Pitcher of the Year for the second time in his career
  • Named First-Team All-Region by both ABCA/Rawlings and D3baseball.com
  • Also named Second-Team All-America and was the Region Pitcher of the Year by ABCA/Rawlings
  • Was named to the NCAC All-Tournament Team after earning the win in the championship game (7-2 over Wittenberg)
  • 2023 First-Team Academic All-America®, selected by College Sports Communicators (two-time Academic All-District® selection in 2022 and 2023)
  • Was named as a nominee by the North Coast Athletic Conference for the Division III Commissioners Association (D3CA) Men's Sport Student-Athlete of the Year award. The Division III Commissioners Association Student-Athlete of the Year awards honor graduating student-athletes who have distinguished themselves throughout their collegiate careers in the areas of academic achievement, athletics excellence, service, and leadership
  • For his career, Fleming ranked second in program history in strikeouts with 221 and was also second in winning percentage (.786; 22-6), third in wins (22), tied for fourth in starts (37), sixth in innings pitched (224.0) and ninth in earned run average (3.70)

2022 (Junior):
  • Made 12 starts and was 5-3 with a 4.37 ERA and a 1.64 WHIP
  • Recorded 51 strikeouts while only walking 13 batters
  • Threw 59.2 innings allowing 85 hits, 34 runs and 29 earned runs
  • Earned the win in each of his first two games of the season. He earned the start and the win in Denison's season-opening 13-2 victory against Greensboro (Maf. 4) where he allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out four and not walking anyone in five innings. Fleming then earned a 6-3 win against Saint John's (Mar. 12) to improve to 2-0. He allowed six hits, three total runs and two earned runs while walking two batters and striking out four through his 7.1 innings, and pitched four 1-2-3 innings
  • Voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District® Team

2021 (Sophomore):
  • Made 12 appearances, starting 11 on the mound
  • Went 7-1 with a 3.97 ERA, struck out a team-high 65 batters over 70+ innings, and threw four complete games
  • Threw a complete game shutout against Millikin University in the first game of the regional tournament
  • Named Mideast Region Second-Team
  • All-NCAC West First-Team
  • NCAC Pitcher of the Year

2020 (Freshman): 
  • Appeared in three games as a rookie
  • Made one start for the Big Red
  • Finished the shortened season with 13 strikeouts in 10.2 innings pitched for a 5.06 ERA and 10.97 K/9 in Denison's 9-2 win over Adrian on March 6
  • Fleming tallied 3.0 innings of scoreless work with five strikeouts

Personal:
  • Health, exercise, and sport studies (HESS) major and psychology minor
  • Son of Melissa and Mike Fleming
  • Member of the National Honors Society, Cum Laude Society, and was named first-team all-district in baseball at Upper Arlington High School
  • Recipient of the Archie Griffin Sportsmanship Award
  • Member of DSAAC, Denison's Student-Athlete Advisory Council
  • Is very involved with Denison's Mission 34 group on campus, which works to bring awareness to mental health issues
  • Played for the Savanna Bananas (Savannah, Ga.) of the Coastal Plain League before returning to Granville for his senior year
  • Graduated Magna Cum Laude with a 3.86 cumulative grade point average
  • Was honored for his senior research project with distinction, Psychological Return-to-Sport Interventions for Injured Athletes (only the second student ever to achieve this in the HESS Department at Denison)
  • Was a senior fellow for the HESS department and worked as a teaching assistant for both the HESS and Portuguese departments
  • Was a member of Phi Kappa Psi, serving as the fraternity Vice-President for risk management
  • Was also a two-year Director of Event Planning for Denison's Mission34 Chapter
