GRANVILLE, Ohio — No. 9 Denison women's lacrosse stayed unbeaten in NCAC play with a dominant 22–3 win over Oberlin on Senior Day Saturday afternoon at Kienzle-Hylbert Stadium. The Big Red improved to 13-1 overall and 5-0 in conference play behind a balanced attack that saw 13 different players score.
Denison wasted no time taking control, scoring the first five goals of the game in the opening quarter. Madison Goldstein sparked the early surge with three first-quarter goals, while Mary Martinson added one as the Big Red built a 5–1 lead after 15 minutes.
The offense kept rolling in the second quarter as Denison outscored Oberlin 7–1 to carry a 12–2 advantage into halftime. Goals came from six different players during the period, including scores from Bridget Sheehy, MK Barnhart, Finlay Harmon and Anie Savarese.
Denison never let up after the break, adding five goals in both the third and fourth quarters to close out the win.
Martinson led all scorers with four goals, while Sheehy and Goldstein each finished with three goals. Barnhart and Harmon added two goals apiece, and eight other Big Red players found the back of the net once.
Sheehy also paced the playmakers with four assists, while Denison received assists from seven different players overall.
Denison controlled the game from the opening draw, holding advantages in shots (32-8), shots on goal (24-2), draw controls (19-6), ground balls (17-13), and clears (14-of-18). The Big Red defense also forced 20 Oberlin turnovers while limiting the Yeowomen to just two shots on goal.
