WOOSTER, Ohio – The No. 16 Denison women's basketball team remained unbeaten on the season with a commanding 88–47 road victory over Wooster on Friday afternoon at Timken Gymnasium. The Big Red (14-0, 3-0 NCAC) controlled the game from start to finish, outscoring the Fighting Scots (9-5, 1-2 NCAC) in every quarter.
First Quarter: Brooke Toigo ignited the game with a pair of early three-pointers, helping Denison jump out to a 16–2 run to open the contest. Wooster responded with a 9–0 surge to cut the deficit to four, but
Abby Cooch closed the quarter with four straight points to give the Big Red a 21–13 advantage after one.
Second Quarter: Adelyn Moore opened the second quarter with a layup in the paint, followed by another from Anelly Mad-toingué, who then added a pair of free throws to push Denison's lead to 12. After a brief scoring lull, Moore knocked down a three-pointer with under five minutes remaining to extend the advantage to 16 at 33–17. Ada Taute followed with back-to-back layups, and Hannah Grudizen closed out the half at the line as the Big Red took a commanding 43–19 lead into the break.
Third Quarter: Cooch and Mad-toingué picked up right where they left off, combining for back-to-back buckets as Mad-toingué finished at the rim and Cooch converted from the free-throw line. At the midway point of the quarter, Cooch drained a three-pointer to extend the lead to 34 with under seven minutes remaining. Ada Taute then scored six consecutive points to push Denison's advantage to 38 at 61–23 with 3:30 left in the quarter. The Big Red continued to dominate, and Moore capped the frame with another three-pointer to send Denison into the final period up 72–29.
Fourth Quarter: Moore continued her on fire shooting, knocking down another three to extend the lead to 44. At the midway point of the quarter, Isabelle McFadden buried a triple of her own to keep the margin at 44 with 6:09 remaining. Wooster attempted to chip away late, but the Big Red stayed in control and closed out the game with a decisive 88–47 victory.
