Roanoke, Va. — The Denison University women's soccer team opened its 2025 season on the road Saturday morning, falling 1-0 to the University of Lynchburg at Donald J. Kerr Stadium.
Following a scoreless first half, Lynchburg struck in the 71st minute for the eventual game-winner.
Denison generated 10 shots, including four on target, but could not find the equalizer. The Big Red also held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks, applying consistent pressure throughout the match.Â
Both teams played a physical second half, with Lynchburg and Denison receiving their first yellow cards late in the contest.
With the result, Denison moves to 0-1-0 while Lynchburg improves to 1-0-0.Â
