Salisbury, MD. — Denison's season came to a heartbreaking end in the First Round of the NCAA Division III Men's Lacrosse Tournament, falling 8–7 in overtime to Dickinson on Sunday evening.
The Big Red opened the scoring just under five minutes into the first quarter, as Kevin Berutich buried a feed from Liam Gillard. Dickinson responded with two quick goals to take a 2–1 lead, but Tommy Quinson evened the score at 2–2 with an unassisted effort late in the quarter.
In the second, Dickinson capitalized on a series of opportunities, netting four goals in under four minutes — including a man-up tally. Quinson added his second of the day on an assist from Berutich to stop the run, but the Red Devils tacked on one more before halftime to lead 6–3 at the break.
Dickinson pushed its lead to 7–3 midway through the third, but Denison refused to go quietly. Macky Peck scored off a Jack Hines assist to trim the margin to three, and the Big Red carried that momentum into the final frame.
Denison dominated the fourth quarter, scoring three unanswered goals to erase the deficit. Brady Monturio got things started off a setup from Collin Murphy, and Quinson completed his hat trick on a man-up opportunity just minutes later. With 2:15 left in regulation, Peck struck again — this time from Gillard — tying the game at 7–7 and forcing overtime.
In overtime, Dickinson scored early to secure the win, advancing to the second round and bringing Denison's NCAA run to an end.
Quinson led Denison with three goals in the loss, finishing the season with 53 goals. Peck added a pair, while Murphy and Gillard recorded two assists each.
Denison closes the 2025 campaign with a 13–7 overall record and its 29th appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
