No. 2 Denison Earns NCAC Regular Season Title with Victory Over Oberlin

Oberlin, Ohio- In their final North Coast Athletic Conference matchup of the regular season, the No.2 Denison Big Red recorded its 13th win in a row after sweeping conference opponents Oberlin College 7-0. Denison improves to 21-2 for the season and, with a perfect 7-0 conference record, clinches the 2025 NCAC Regular Season Title. While the Yeomen dropped to 6-12 and 2-3 in the NCAC.

In doubles play, Denison duos Colin Gramley and Jacob Patterson on court one, and Chika Nwaozuzu and Ethan Green on court two, defeated their opponents 6-1, grabbing an early 1-0 lead heading into singles. 

In singles matches, the Big Red continued to pull away from their opponents. Courts three through six notched the necessary wins to put this final NCAC head-to-head to rest. Mason Conlin kicked off the singles matches with a definitive 6-0, 6-2 decision on court four. Ryan Patrick would put Denison up 3-0 after defeating his opponent 6-0, 6-1 on court five. Chika Nwaozuzu clinched the victory for the Big Red with a 6-2, 6-2 straight set decision on court six. The final three matches of the day were won by Jacob Patterson, Kael Shah, and Nick Meyers. Patterson earned a 6-4, 6-0 decision on court one, while Shah recorded a 6-3, 6-2 victory on court two. The final win of the afternoon was earned by Meyers after defeating his opponent by a score of 6-1, 6-4 on court three. 

Catching up with head Coach David Schilling after the match, he shared that " this was a clean match to clinch the NCAC Regular Season Championship. Our guys worked hard all year, and I am happy for the players that we reached this first goal. However, we have a lot of goals still out there."
