DELAWARE, Ohio (Feb. 22) – Denison University women's basketball closed out the regular season with a hard-fought 77-60 loss to No. 14 Ohio Wesleyan University at Branch Rickey Arena.
The Big Red started strong, keeping pace in the first quarter before Ohio Wesleyan pulled away in the second, outscoring Denison 22-11 to take a 45-28 lead into halftime. Denison battled in the second half but could not overcome the deficit.
Abby Cooch led Denison with 14 points, adding six assists and three steals. Adelyn Moore came off the bench to contribute 13 points, hitting two three-pointers. Maeve Perry provided a boost with nine points on a perfect four-for-four shooting performance. Maddie Goodman led the team with nine rebounds, while Anelly Mad-Toingue added five boards.
Denison finishes the regular season third in the NCAC standings with an 8-6 conference record. The Big Red now turn their focus to the NCAC Tournament, opening with a quarterfinal matchup against No. 6 Hiram on Tuesday, February 25, at 7:00 p.m. in Livingston Gymnasium. The semifinal and final rounds are scheduled for February 28 – March 1 at the site of the No. 1 seed.
