Greencastle, Ind.- Denison field hockey remains undefeated in conference play, after defeating DePauw 3-0 on the road. Leading the charge for the Big Red was junior attack Emma Gebhart, who put in all three of Denison's goals. The Big Red moved to 7-5 for the season and 5-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play. The Tigers dropped to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
After a scoreless first quarter, Gebhart found the back of DePauw's cage in the 17th minute of play, off a pass from Lulu Keil following a penalty corner. Keil would connect with Gebhart again in the 33rd minute to put the Big Red up by two goals. The third and final goal for Denison followed a penalty corner; this time, Rachel Gilio slipped a pass to Gebhart to complete her hat-trick.
The Big Red held an 11-10 edge in shots, while the Tigers held a 9-6 advantage in penalty corners. Despite facing three more penalty corners, Denison held DePauw to its second-lowest shots on goal total (3). Therese Lucian finished the day with three saves, while the Tigers' Tea Jerro finished the afternoon with six saves.
