- In addition, Fierer tied the Big Red record with seven RBI's while the pair of home runs by both Fierer and Leib also tied the record.
- Viebrock finished with three innings pitched allowing just five hits, no runs and no walks while striking out three to right the ship from the mound for the Big Red.
- The top of the first inning for Denison started with a one-out home run by Colaco before a three-run homer with two outs by Leib. In the bottom of the first, however, Arcadia got a leadoff walk followed by an RBI-double to get on the scoreboard, all before a three-run home run to tie it at 4-4 still with nobody out.
- The Big Red added three more runs in the top of the second inning, with the final two coming on a two-out, two-run homer by Welsch, but then the Knights struck back with nine runs on seven hits in a bottom of the second inning that featured two three-RBI doubles.

- Denison took back the lead in the top of the sixth inning when with one out, Sundgren singled through the left side and was followed by back-to-back doubles by Colaco and Glennon to tie it at 16-16. Then the fourth straight hit for Denison, which was a two-run home run by Fierer to also score Glennon, gave the Big Red an 18-16 lead.
- Arcadia hit another three-run homer with nobody out in the bottom of the sixth to retake the lead at 19-18 before Fierer answered with a three-run shot of his own for his second home run of the game to make it 21-19 Big Red in the top of the seventh.
- With no outs in the bottom of the seventh, Arcadia hit an inside the park grand slam to jump ahead 23-21, but in the top of the eighth, Leib led off with his second home run of the game to get the Big Red back to within one at 23-22.
- Then with two outs in the top of the eighth, Colaco singled to shortstop to tie the game at 23-23 before the game was suspended with the Big Red threatening with two outs and the bases loaded.

Game 2 (No. 13 Denison 4, Stevens 8):
- After Denison stranded runners at the corners in the bottom of the first inning, Stevens capitalized with a pair of unearned runs on a Denison fielding error with outs in the top of the second inning.
- Then after the Big Red left another runner in scoring position in the bottom of the second, the Ducks pushed across two more runs in the top of the third inning after a leadoff triple and followed by another Denison error and then a two-run double.
- Fortunately, the Big Red defense was able to keep its deficit from getting any worse as a flyout to center field was followed by an out at the plate on the throw by Sundren to end the top of the third inning.
- A 1-2-3 top of the fourth inning for Cade Nowik was followed by a bottom of the fourth that saw the Big Red get three runs back after a leadoff double to left field by Welsch, who scored two batters later on a single up the middle by Josh Bohn to get Denison on the board. After Bohn's single, a walk by Owen Wilson was followed by a wild pitch to put both Bohn and Wilson into scoring position, and then Sundgren delivered his second hit of the game with a single to right field to bring in both runners and make the score 4-3 in favor of the Ducks.
- Stevens went ahead by a score of 5-3 after back-to-back one-out doubles in the top of the fifth inning, but after another 1-2-3 frame by Nowik in the top of the sixth, Denison got to within one run again at 5-4 thanks to a leadoff home run to left field by Bohn in the bottom half of the sixth.
- Unfortunately, after another run for Stevens in the top of the seventh inning, Denison left two runners on in the bottom of the seventh and then had a runner thrown out at home to end the bottom of the eighth.
