Emmett Burnside gave Denison a double-digit lead at 35-25 with 3:13 left in the opening period, and then an and-one by
Ricky Radtke 30 seconds later made it 38-26.
Then in the final minute of the first half, a layup by
Tyler Miller followed by the third 3-pointer of the period by Dean just before the halftime buzzer sounded gave Denison a 15-point edge (43-28) at the intermission.
In all, Denison finished 7-for-14 from long range in the first half, and then after giving up a 3-pointer to start the second half, the Big Red went on a 22-4 run in the first eight minutes of the period to go ahead 65-32.
