GRANVILLE, Ohio (September 10, 2021) – For the second time in its first three matches to open the 2021 season, the Denison University women's soccer team was victorious by a score of 1-0, this time over Transylvania University on Friday evening on Barclay-Thomsen Field.
The action was mostly dominated by the Denison offense (3-0 overall), which fired off 10 shot attempts in the first 25 minutes of the match and had 11 shot attempts before Transylvania (2-2) got its first shot with just 13 minutes left before halftime.
The Big Red led 15-1 on total shots, 4-1 on shots on goal and 4-0 on corner kicks at halftime.

Less than two minutes later, however,
Sydney Ludes sent a pass bouncing through the box where it found Davis for the lone score of the match.
In the end, 11 different players had at least one shot attempt for Denison while eight had at least two attempts. Davis paced the Big Red with six total shots, three of which were on goal, while
Ellie Reiser added four shots,
Kate Dalimonte and

Leland Keller,
Abby King, Ludes and
Caroline Flynn each added two.
Freshman goalkeeper

For the second week in a row, Denison will play back-to-back on Friday and Saturday as the Big Red host Calvin College at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 11, from Barclay-Thomsen Field.
