GRANVILLE, Ohio- Denison men's lacrosse clinched a spot in the 2021 North Coast Athletic Conference Championship game after a 24-4 victory over Wittenberg on Sunday at Piper Stadium. Denison face NCAC East Division winner, Kenyon College next Saturday, May 8 at a time to be determined.

• The Big Red entered the contest needing at least a seven-goal victory to win the conference tiebreaker with Ohio Wesleyan and DU got to work quickly, taking a 5-1 lead after the first quarter.
• Luke Fisher led Denison with four goals and two assists. Hat tricks were also notched by Sam Asman, Devin Irvin and Ethan Tyack.
• Camden Bowdy paced the Denison offense with four assists and one goal while Asman and Tyack each added three helpers each.
• Steven Villacorta was outstanding once again at the face-off dot, winning 17-of-21 while leading the team in ground balls with 10.  In two games against the Tigers, Villacorta was 38-of-46 good for an .826 face-off percentage.
• TJ Spahn finished with seven saves in 40 minutes of action between the pipes. Reeves McKenney played the final 20 minutes and tallied five saves.
• Denison outshot the Tigers 69-24 and dominated the ground ball game, winning that stat 56-21.  Denison was 2-of-4 in man-up opportunities.
• The Big Red will take a 7-1 record into the postseason.  Wittenberg's season comes to an end at 5-7.
• Prior to the game Denison said farewell to it's nine-member senior class. Sam Asman, Ian Crosby, Devin Irvin, Ryan Kirkpatrick, Reeves McKenney, Aidan O'Neill, Jack Phipps, Jack Scalia, and Steven Villacorta boast a career record of 45-8 with two NCAC Championships and two NCAA Tournament berths.
