INDIANAPOLIS— Denison suffered a 12-9 loss to Division I Butler University on Wednesday afternoon. Denison, who is ranked 10^th in NCAA Division III, trailed the Bulldogs by only one at halftime.  Butler scored six of the first seven goals in the second half to pull away.

• Denison was led in scoring by Molly Fischer who finished with four goals on five shots. She scored the final three goals of the game to make it a 12-9 final.
• Caroline O'Dea posted a career-high 12 saves for the Big Red. She notched seven saves in the first half and five in the second. Butler countered with a three-player attack at goalie. The trio combined for 11 saves.
• There were eight yellow cards issued in the contest resulting in five woman-up goals with three coming for Denison and two for Butler. All five of those goals came in the second half.
• Lindsay Karsh scored two goals and had two ground balls and four draw controls.
• Butler is Denison's first NCAA Division I opponent since 1998 when the Big Red suffered a 19-4 loss to Ohio State in Columbus.

Denison returns to action on Saturday, April 17 when they host Allegheny College at 2 p.m. at Piper Stadium.  The Denison Sports Network broadcast will begin at 1:45 p.m.
