GRANVILLE- No. 20 Denison opened the 2021 season with a convincing 17-9 victory over visiting Illinois Wesleyan from Piper Stadium. The Big Red outscored the Titans 11-3 in the first half opening its lead to 11 goals early in the second half.

Denison was led in scoring by Casey McTague and Liza Farnham who scored four goals apiece. Molly Fischer added three goals and one assist while Jane Bailey and Josie Lucchesi tallied two goals and one assist, each.

The Big Red dominated in the shot department, 56-15 as turnovers plagued the visiting Titans throughout. Illinois Wesleyan finished with 26 turnovers to Denison's nine and were 16-of-27 when clearing the ball.

Lindsey Karsh led DU with six draw controls while McTague tallied four caused turnovers and four draw controls.

Denison returns to action on Saturday, March 20 when they host the College of Wooster at 3 p.m.
