HIRAM, Ohio (November 6, 2021) – The Denison University football team was victorious 59-6 over Hiram College in its final road game of the 2021 season.
The Big Red rushed for a season-high 380 yards and averaged 6.4 yards per rush, all while only attempting 10 passes through the air and limiting Hiram to 185 yards of total offense and a mark of 1-and-11 on third down.
The game featured the first career rushing touchdowns for junior tight end
Mack Marston and freshman wide receiver
Aidan Brownlee, the first career receiving touchdown for sophomore running back
Jon Adamson, and the first career touchdown pass for senior quarterback
Jacob Kuhlman.
Andrew Brown rushed 12 times for 77 yards (6.4 avg.),
Trey Fabrocini rushed 12 times for 75 yards (5.7 avg.) and a touchdown, freshman
Jordan Waterhouse ran 10 times for 70 yards (7.0 avg.),
Andrew Blanchard rushed it seven times for 42 yards (6.0 avg.) and a touchdown, Marston ran it three times for 41 yards (13.7 avg.) and a touchdown, and
Drew Dawkins rushed four times for 38 yards (9.5 avg.) and a touchdown.
In all, five different Big Red runners finished with a rushing touchdown.
On the defensive side of the ball, Denison was led by
Jeff Moore with six tackles and
Will Thomas with four while
Ryan Hallinan,
Thomas Berry (returned 25 yards for a touchdown) and
Collin Murphy all had interceptions. Additionally,
Griffin Green recorded 1.5 sacks and
Nathan Hallenbeck had 1.5 tackles for loss while Murphy also had a tackle for loss.
Denison (6-3 overall, 6-2 North Coast Athletic Conference) finished up 3-2 on the road this season, and will now host Ohio Wesleyan University for Senior Day at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 13.
