WESTERVILLE, Ohio (November 13, 2021) – The Denison University men's basketball team scored 29 points in both halves and fell 81-58 against Otterbein University in its first road game of the 2021-22 season.
Both teams shot 50 percent or better in the first half, but the biggest difference contributing to Otterbein's 13-point lead (42-29) at the break was its seven 3-pointers compared to two 3-pointers (2-5) for Denison.
In the end, Otterbein shot 42.3 percent (11-26) from three while Denison made only four 3-pointers at 28.6 percent (4-14).
The Big Red did, however, hold a 42-28 advantage on points in the paint.
Although none reached double digits, 11 different Big Red players entered the scoring column, led by
Darren Rubin with nine points.
Ricky Radtke and
Omar Elliott-Diab both shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and finished with eight points.
Next up, the Big Red will play in another road game, this time at Capital University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 17, in Columbus, Ohio.
