MEADVILLE, Pa. (October 23, 2021) – The Denison University volleyball team dropped the first set against Allegheny College on Saturday before coming back to win the next three sets and earn a 3-1 (21-25, 25-22, 25-15, 25-12) victory heading into the final conference match of the regular season.
The Big Red put up some powerful numbers on Saturday as
Daria Rodriguez recorded a new career-high 24 kills on a .354 attack percentage and added 13 digs for her seventh double-double as a freshman.
Lucy Anderson added 12 kills on a .360 attack percentage, her 14th time this season hitting at least .300 percent, and she also had a career-best eight service aces.

After dropping the first set on a rough .071 attack percentage with eight attack errors and then making nine errors in the second set, Denison improved with only four attack errors over the final two sets, including only one error in a fourth set in which the Big Red hit .517 percent to close it out.
Now with a record of 18-5 overall and 7-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, Denison will take its nine-match winning streak into an all-important matchup with conference preseason favorite Wittenberg University (17-6 overall, 7-0 NCAC). The Big Red and the Tigers will square off with the NCAC regular-season championship on the line at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, during Denison's home finale inside Livingston Gymnasium.
