GREENCASTLE, Ind. (October 16, 2021) – The Denison University women's soccer team improved to 8-3 overall and 4-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with a 1-0 win on the road at DePauw University on Saturday evening.

It was not easy as it took until the 70th minute for a goal by Callie Davis to break the scoreless tie. Each of the last two meetings between Denison and DePauw had been ties, and it looked for a while like they might be headed to overtime again before Davis stepped up.

Denison outshot DePauw 6-0 in the first half as King and Davis both fired two attempts in the opening 45 minutes, but the Big Red were then outshot 5-4 in the second half as Patil Tcholakian made three of her four saves in the final period.

In the end, Tcholakian earned her third shutout in four conference matches so far this season.

Now with four wins in a row, Denison remains as the final unbeaten team in the NCAC this year.

Next up, Denison will have two home matches next week as they host Oberlin College at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, October 20, followed by Wittenberg University at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 23.
