Men's Outdoor Track

DU sends small squad to Marv Frye

After having the event moved to Sunday due to weather, the Denison men's track and field team sent a small group of athletes to the Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan in Delaware, Ohio.

Big Red senior Ryan Keller led the way with a sixth-place finish in the 800-meter run. Keller crossed the finish line in a season-best time of 2:00.51. Sophomore Zach Munn took 13th in the event with a time of 2:02.65.

Junior Drake Lohnes also had a top-10 showing, placing sixth in the javelin. Lohnes' mark of 146'3" moved him into eighth on the school's top performers list. Also logging a top-10 finish was freshman Isaac Reed who finished 10th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:03.05.

Ohio Wesleyan won the event with 191 points followed by Heidelberg with 129.5. Case Western was third (104), while Albion (103) and Ohio Northern (71.5) rounded out the top-5 spots in the team standings.

The Big Red will be back in action next Saturday when they return to George Gauthier Track in Delaware, Ohio for the All-Ohio Championship. Field events are scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m., while the first running event is slated to start at 12 p.m.
