The Denison men competed at the unscored Big Red Invitational on Friday night, earning 13 top-3 finishes.
Senior Dimonde Hale led DU with a victory in the 400 meter dash in 50.38 seconds. He would also team with Jon Brachna, Stephen Czujko, and Ian Mulmat to win the 4x400 relay in 3:27.57.
Freshman Quenton Richards won the high jump by clearing 6'2". That's the best performance by a DU high jumper in three years. Richards would also post a second-place finish among collegiate competitors in the 100 meter dash with his time of 11.29.
In the 800 meter run, Chad Kosanovich and Brachna pushed each other to a first and second place finish, respectively. Kosanovich checked in with a time of 1:55.78 while Brachna logged a time of 1:56.67.
In the 200 meter dash, Jordan Patterson took third among college competitors with a time of 22.68 seconds. In the 1,500 meter run, Mitch Keller placed third (4:07.98) and Jacob Ott took fourth (4:08.65).
Denison's Sam Beech would finish second in the 3,000 meter run in 9:10.16 while John Williamson was fourth in 9:20.65.
In field events, first-year Wallace Branche won the triple jump with a distance of 46'8". That's a personal best for Branche in the event. In the discus, sophomore Andy Shaw posted the fourth-best performance in school history with a distance of 146'5". His previous best was 134'0".
Sophomore Kyle McNulty was second in the javelin with a throw of 141'4". Teammate Ian Weijer was third in the event with a distance of 127'1".
Denison will return to action next weekend at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championship hosted by Kenyon College.
