Denison competed at the 15-team Marv Frye Invitational on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan and posted four, top-8 finishes en route to a 14th place finish.

Senior Steven Gallego's throw of 155'0" in the javelin landed him in seventh place overall. That finish, along with Alex Chappars' performance in the 5,000 meters tied for the team's best finish on Saturday.

In the 5,000 meters, Chappars led a trio of top-20 runners for DU.  He placed seventh in 15:27.99.  Russell Holden followed in 17th place in 15:55.29 and Alphonse Harris checked in 19th in 16:18.88.

In the 400 meter dash, sophomore Dimonde Hale sprinted to an eighth-place finish and a time of 50.46 seconds.  Hale also ran on Denison's eighth-place 4x400 relay team with Jon Brachna, Pat Effinger and Michael Cohen.  The foursome covered the mile relay in 3:29.11.

The Big Red's top finishes were rounded out by Chris Roth in the 100 and 200 meter dashes and Stephen Czujko in the 800 meters.  Roth placed 17th in the 100 meter dash in 11.55 seconds and 20th in the 200 in 23.48.  Czujko crossed in 2:01.36 to place 16th in the 800 meters.

Denison will return to Ohio Wesleyan next Saturday (April 16) for the All-Ohio Championship.
