The Denison University men's outdoor track and field team opened the 2011 season with a 13th-place finish at the Yellow Jacket Collegiate Open hosted by Cedarville University on Saturday.

Dension was led by senior Steven Gallego who finished third in the javelin throw with a distance of 156-11, while junior Chris Roth took eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 24.03.

Steven Johnson and Russell Holden rounded out the Big Red scoring in the 5,000-meter run.  Johnson crossed the finish line in 16:03.54 en route to a ninth-place fininsh, while Holden took 11th with a time of 16:16.32.

DU returns to action on Friday (April 1) at the College of Wooster.
