Nehemiah Bowie begins his third season with the Denison University football team coaching defensive backs in 2023. He is also embarking upon his second season as Special Teams Coordinator.

Denison finished its 2022 season 8-2 overall and 6-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, which was good for a tie for second place, while junior cornerback Roshaune Downie was named First-Team All-NCAC and D3football.com Third-Team All-Region after leading the Big Red with four interceptions and 18 pass breakups. Downie led the NCAC in interceptions, pass breakups and total passed defended (22), and was the only player in the conference to average over two passes defended per game. He was also ranked second in all of NCAA Division III in pass breakups, total passes defended and passed defended per game, and was tied for 39th in interceptions per game (0.4). In addition, fifth-year safety Anthony Rooney earned second-team all-conference honors under Bowie's guidance while sophomore return specialist Jaylin Epps was named first-team all-conference and second-team all-region after finishing as one of seven players in all of NCAA Division III with at least two punts returned for a touchdown and ranking first in the country in punt return average (22.8). He also ranked first in the NCAC in both punt return yards and kickoff return yards.

In Coach Bowie's first season at Denison in 2021, the Big Red finished 6-4 overall and 6-3 in the NCAC, which was tied for fourth place, while coaching senior safety Ryan Hallinan to First-Team All-NCAC honors.
 
Bowie recently graduated from Muskingum University where he was four-year letter winner. He played defensive back and linebacker as well as served on the special team’s unit. In the Spring of 2020, Bowie served as Player/Coach where he helped analyze practice film, install game plans for the week, ran positional meetings for linebackers, and assisted in recruiting.

He was named Honorable Mention All-OAC in the Spring of 2021.
