Seetreeon “Tron” Torres begins his first season as Assistant Men’s and Women’s Squash Coach at Denison University in 2025-26.
A native of the Bronx, New York, Torres discovered his passion for squash through CitySquash, an after-school enrichment program that he credits as the place “where his life changed and his journey began.” Since then, Torres has spent more than a decade coaching, mentoring, and developing competitive players while helping to grow the game at both the youth and collegiate levels.
Most recently, Torres served as an Assistant Squash Professional at the Toledo Club in Toledo, Ohio, where he helped manage internal and external events including the Fall Fest and Spring Classic tournaments, the Winter Squash League, and a kids’ summer squash camp.
Prior to his time in Toledo, Torres was the Curriculum and Coaching Squash Manager at MetroSquash in Chicago, Illinois. There, he coordinated tryouts, induction ceremonies, and student recruitment while also building relationships with local club professionals to expand junior playing opportunities. He organized “Travel Squash,” a series of non-sanctioned tournaments for youth players, and in 2019, coached his team to a third-place finish in the A Division at the SEA Middle School Team Nationals. For five consecutive summers, he directed MetroSquash’s four-week squash camp, providing instruction and mentorship to dozens of student-athletes.
As a player, Torres earned a full scholarship to attend Trinity-Pawling, an all-boys boarding school in New York, where he competed in the top three spots on the varsity ladder throughout his high school career. He went on to play at St. Lawrence University, where he was a member of the Saints’ nationally ranked team that finished runner-up at the 2014-15 CSA National Collegiate Men’s Team Championship. Torres was recognized with the Squash Coaches Award for his contributions to the program. He graduated from St. Lawrence with a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Fine Arts.
Head Coach Michael MacDonald praised Torres’ addition to the staff, saying, “I am very excited to welcome Tron to our coaching staff. He brings positive energy, knowledge, and a fresh perspective that will immediately impact the team. We are lucky to have him joining us.”
