Denison University’s Head Field Hockey Coach P.J. Soteriades has announced the hiring of Kelsey Devine as the new assistant field hockey coach on August 16, 2022.
During her first season at Denison in 2022, the Big Red went 11-6 overall while qualifying for the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament for the 13th season in a row. They also finished 6-2 in the NCAC and earned the No. 3 seed for the conference tournament for the second year in a row.
Devine graduated from SUNY Brockport in 2018 where she finished her career with 49 starts in 51 games while scoring two goals and adding one career assist as a midfielder and defender. She was named to the SUNYAC All-Conference Second-Team in both 2016 and 2018, and capped off her senior season by earning SUNAYC Defensive Player of the Week and leading the SUNYAC and tying for second in the country with 12 defensive saves.
Following her playing career, Devine joined the SUNY Brockport coaching staff for three years, helping the Golden Eagles finish off their 2019 season with a 9-8 record overall, followed by a 7-8 mark in 2021. From 2019-2020, she was also one of the head coaches of the U16 club teams in Rochester, Empire United Field Hockey.
Devine graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from SUNY Brockport in 2018, and graduated with her Master’s degree in psychology (General Research) from SUNY Brockport in 2022.
