Denison University swimmers Jill Boo (Ramsey,
Minn./Anoka) and Lauren Clark (Corvallis,
Ore./Crescent Valley) were named to the College Sports
Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America "At
Large" team as selected by the members of CoSIDA.
Boo, a junior german and education major was a second-team
selection after posting a 3.83 grade point average through her
first three years at Denison. At the 2004 NCAA Division III
Championships Boo captured her second consecutive national
championship in the 100 fly.
Clark, a sophomore, holds a grade point average of 3.91 and was
the runner-up in the 400 free relay, the 200 medley relay and the
200 IM at the NCAA Championships in March. Both Boo and Clark
helped the Big Red to their first ever North Coast Athletic
Conference team championship as well as a third place overall
finish at the NCAA Championships.
Created in 1952 by the College Sports Information Directors
of America (CoSIDA), the Academic All-America Teams Program is the
premier, nationwide college scholar-athlete awards program. It
recognizes 816 outstanding student-athletes annually in Division I,
II, III and NAIA covering all NCAA championship sports. The
"At-Large" team represents athletes from the following women's
sports; crew, gymnastics, skiing, fencing, ice hockey, swimming,
water polo, field hockey, lacrosse, tennis, golf and
rifle.
