Built in 1949, Livingston Gymnasium is the home of Denison University volleyball, men's basketball, and women's basketball. The facility, housed in Denison's Mitchell Center, seats 1,500 spectators and has hosted various conference and NCAA events over the years.
In 2015, the original floor was replaced with a new hardwood surface, providing increased shock absorption and safety. In 2005, new chairback and bleacher seating was added, which greatly improved sightlines and comfort for all spectators. Other improvements include a new sound system, skylights, and improved LEED lighting.
The facility is named in honor of an alumnus, and former Athletic Director and Hall of Fame coach, Walter Livingston.
