Denison University Ice Hockey competes in the ACHA Division 2.

Denison Hockey has been a hockey school since 1955.  Currently, Denison Hockey is emerging as a prominent hockey program in the Midwest thanks to strong Hockey Alumni support and focused recruiting efforts by staff and alumni.   Denison Players come from all over the United States and Canada, with most of the players coming from high-level varsity and prep school programs,Tier 1 Elite U-18, Junior (USPHL and NA3HL) and AA U-18 hockey programs.

The Denison University Men's Ice Hockey is a very competitive and committed team that competes on a very high level.  The team practices on ice for three hours throughout the week and off-ice for one hour.  Big Red hockey plays an average of 23 games per year, both in conference and exhibition.

Denison University, with the support of the Denison Hockey Alumni, supply a varsity level locker room at Lou and Gib Reese Ice Arena in Newark Ohio exclusively for Denison Hockey.  The room is located approximately 4 miles from the Denison Campus.  Home games, as well as practices, are held at Lou and Gib Reese Ice area in Newark, Ohio.  

Head Coach Jeff German possesses over 40 years of hockey experience both on the ice and on the bench.  Coach German played his youth and junior hockey in the Detroit area and finished up playing on the west coast in San Diego.  Currently, he is a resident of Granville, Ohio and also conducts private coaching in and around Columbus.
