GAME SUMMARY:

LEXINGTON, Va. -- Senior attacker Katherine Riddle and junior attacker 
Ellen Ritsch each tallied five goals in leading the Washington and Lee 
women's lacrosse team to an 18-10 victory over visiting Denison University 
on Saturday afternoon.

Denison (0-1) jumped out to an early 2-1 lead just 8:42 into the contest 
with goals from sophomore attacker Jamie Fox and junior attacker Laura 
Peace, but W & L (2-0) reeled off six straight goals, staking claim to a 
7-2 lead with 3:53 remaining in the first half.  The Generals (2-0) took 
an 8-5 lead into halftime.  Coming out of the break, W & L scored more 
five consecutive goals, assuming a 13-5 lead with 24:00 remaining.  From 
there, the Generals would cruise to the win. 

Freshman attacker Leslie Bogart continued her stellar play for W & L, 
notching two goals and dishing out a game-high four assists.  Fellow 
freshman Laura Wilson amassed two goals as well.

Denison was led by junior midfielder Amy Hemmelgarn who scored a team-high 
three goals.  Peace, sophomore attacker Lea Disston and freshman attacker 
Stephanie Pratzner each chipped in with two goals apiece for the Big Red. 

Senior goalkeeper Ginny Jernigan made 10 saves in goal for the Generals, 
while DU goalie Katherine Haney stopped 21 General shots.
