Denison University Athletics Welcomes Cat Rossi to the Big Red Strength and Conditioning Staff

Granville, Ohio- Denison University's Strength and Conditioning staff is excited to announce the recent addition of Cat Rossi. A native of Litchfield County, Conn. Rossi joins the Big Red coaching staff with a wealth of experience ranging from Division I to Division III stints over the last couple of years.

Before joining the Denison strength and conditioning staff, Rossi was the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach and Facilities and Operations Coordinator at Washington and Lee. While there, she oversaw the programming, implementation, and management of year-round training for W&L's men's basketball, women's lacrosse, and men's and women's tennis. She also coordinated the weight room schedule for all 24 varsity teams and contributed to various administrative responsibilities, including serving on the host committee for the 2024 NCAA Division III Field Hockey National Championship.

From 2022 to 2023, Rossi was the graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Merrimack College, where she designed and implemented training programs for NCAA Division I women's soccer, softball, and men's and women's cross country. As a graduate assistant, she also helped develop a curriculum and oversaw the development of interns as the Strength and Conditioning Department's Internship Coordinator.

Ahead of her graduate assistantship with Merrimack, Rossi was an intern with Harvard Strength and Conditioning and Sacred Heart University. While at Harvard, she assisted the full-time staff with implementing training programs for 42 Division I men's and women's programs. As an intern, she was introduced to technology such as the Dashr System and Tendo VBT Units. At Sacred Heart University, she worked alongside the full staff in executing training programs for teams such as football, men's and women's soccer, baseball, softball, field hockey, cross country, cheerleading, and the equestrian team.

As a coach, Rossi has shared that she aims to inspire and educate student-athletes to perform at their highest level- not just in competition, but in everything they do.

Rossi earned her Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and Nutrition with a minor in Psychology from Sacred Heart University. She would then earn a Master of Science in Exercise and Sports Science, with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning at Merrimack College. She is CSCS certified,  has a USAW level 1 certification, and is working toward a PN1 Nutrition Level 1 certification.
