Granville, Ohio - In the Big Red's first competition of the 2025-26 season, the Denison women golfers finished second in the Lynn Schweizer Invitational held at Denison Golf Club. Over the course of 36 holes played across two picturesque days in Granville, the defending North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) champion Big Red battled against 12 opponents, including four NCAC foes.Â
After the sun set on day one, the top five teams were: Randolph-Macon (306), DePauw (311), Christopher Newport (315), Lynchburg (320), and Denison (321).
Needing to make up ground on day two, the Denison women fired a 304 to jump DePauw for the second-place finish.
Here's how the two-day top five shook up: Randolph-Macon (599), Denison (625), DePauw (631), Christopher Newport (633), and Methodist (638).Â
Three Big Red golfers placed in the top ten individually.Â
- Senior Isabella Dolan tied for fifth with a two-day total of 153 (77-76).Â
- Fellow senior Anna Klass and junior Natalia Fanucchi both tied for tenth with totals of 155. Klass went 79-76, while Fanucchi improved on her first round 81 by seven strokes, carding a team-low 74 on Sunday.Â
Rounding out Denison's top five, junior Lizzy Grant and sophomore Siena Maschke both finished in the top 30.
