New Concord, Ohio: On Wednesday, the Denison softball team traveled to Muskingum University to take on the Fightin' Muskies. Coming off of a 10-day break, Denison got back into the swing of things in the mid-week doubleheader. Coming into the matchup, the 3-5 Muskies command a 16-14 matchup lead over the 6-5 Big Red. In game one, Denison took down Muskingum 8-1. In game two, Muskingum stormed back after the loss and took down Denison 12-0.

Game 1:(Denison 8, Muskingum 1)
The Big Red dominated game one after falling behind early 1-0. The offense kept a steady pace in the middle innings, tacking on three runs in the third and fourth innings.
Madilyn Moffitt led the charge, driving in five RBIs for the Big Red. She racked up a double and a homer in the victory.
Indy Workman collected a triple and went 2-3 at the plate.
Brooke Surbaugh went the distance in the circle, earning her second win of the season, going 7.0 innings and striking out four.
Game 2: (Denison 0, Muskingum 12)
The Muskies jumped to an early 7-0 lead after an explosive first inning.
Sydney Silverstein got the start for the Big Red, picking up her first loss of the season.
Madilyn Moffitt and
Andrea Care came into the circle out of relief. Collectively, they struck out four batters and walked five in the loss. The offense fought hard but ultimately wasn't able to get the momentum rolling in their favor.
