GRANVILLE, Ohio (March 20, 2024) – The Denison University softball team hosted its first two games of what will be three straight home doubleheaders at the Denison Softball Field and finished the day with a pair of five-inning shutout wins against Chatham University. The Big Red were victorious 10-0 in game one before winning 11-0 in game number two.

Game 1 (Denison 10, Chatham 0):
- Denison scored seven runs on eight hits in its half of the second inning, which started with three straight singles by Jacqui Abogado, Indy Workman and Brianna Gonzalez.
- Alessandra Groome had a two-run double in the second inning and finished 3-for-3.
- Madilyn Moffitt (2-1) pitched her first-career shutout with five innings pitched allowing just one hit, no walks and eight strikeouts. She was also 2-for 3 at the plate with a solo home run to round out the scoring in the fourth inning.

Game 2 (Denison 11, Chatham 0):
- The bottom of the first started with singles by Jordyn Maurer and Groome before a two-run triple by Leilah Ferrari.
- Annabelle Calderon followed with an RBI-single and then a single by Brooke Surbaugh made it five straight hits to open the game for the Big Red, who ultimately scored four runs in the first inning and added a two-run double by Surbaugh in the second.
- Surbaugh finished 2-for-2 while Ferrari was 2-for-3 with two RBI's, two runs scored and two triples.
- Giavanna Gangi (1-0) also pitched her first-career shutout with five innings allowing two hits and four walks.

- It was the first two games between Denison (6-4 overall) and Chatham (3-11) as the Big Red played a brand-new opponent for the second series in a row.
