GRANVILLE, Ohio—Denison women's lacrosse closed out its regular season with a 16-5 victory over DePauw University from Piper Stadium. With the win, the Big Red clinched first place in the North Coast Athletic Conference west division which punches their ticket to the 2021 NCAC Championship game.
- The Big Red jumped out to a 9-1 lead in the first 12 minutes of play behind two scores from Molly Fischer, Lindsey Karsh, Liza Farnham and Ryann Yospa.
- Casey McTague led all scorers with four goals on seven shot attempts. She also added four draw controls.
- Charlotte Godfrey continued to build her resume as the conference's top defensive player as she tallied three caused turnovers, three ground balls and three draw controls.
- Six DU players accounted for the team's 16 goals. All six players posted multi-goal efforts as Yospa netted her second hat-trick of the season.
- DePauw goalie Kathryn Hopkins posted 14 saves in 50 minutes of action. Grace Clark scored three goals and had one assist for the Tigers.
- Prior to the contest Denison bid adieu to is six-member senior class consisting of Megan Cunningham, Liza Farnham, Molly Fischer, Charlotte Godfrey, Lindsey Karsh, and Emerson Younger. The group has totaled 42 wins, two conference titles, two NCAA Tournament appearances while never losing a conference game.
Denison will play the NCAC East winner, Wooster, on Saturday, May 1 at 1 p.m. at the College of Wooster. The host site for this year's NCAC Women's Lacrosse Championship was pre-determined as the winner of the east division prior to the start of the season. No visiting team spectators will be permitted in accordance with
Wooster's spectator policy.
