The Denison men's indoor track and field team travelled to the Wooster Invitational on Saturday and turned in a fifth-place finish from the recently opened Scot Center.
The Big Red were led by junior Chad Kosanovich who won the 800 meters for the second-straight week. The current North Coast Athletic Conference runner of the week, posted a time of 1:59.25 in the event. Teammate Stephen Czujko followed in seventh with a time of 2:07.75.
In the throwing events, senior Wendell Taylor placed second in the shot put with a throw of 38'. His distance of 36'2.75" was good enough for fourth-place in the weight throw. Following in fifth place in the shot put was sophomore John Bute with a throw of 34'3".
In the 5,000 meter run it was Steven Johnson's time of 16:54.13 that led Denison to a third-place finish. Connor Ford was the pace-setter for DU in the 3,000 meters with an eighth-place finish and a time of 10:02.66.
Denison's scoring was rounded out by Jonathan Brachna, who tallied a second-place finish and a fifth-place finish on the day. His runner-up time came in the 400 meter dash with a time of 52.20. The fifth-place came in the 200 meter dash in 24.12 seconds.
The Big Red men will be back in action next Friday at the Ohio Wesleyan Open.
