The Big Red women turned in eight, top-eight performances on Saturday at the 2011 North Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship which landed them in seventh place in the final standings.
Denison's top performer on Saturday was first-year Tiffany Davis who notched a pair of all-conference showings in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash. In the 200 meter dash, Davis finished third with a time of 26.46 seconds. Earlier in the day, she finished fifth in the 100 meter dash after posting a time of 12.92.
Davis was also a part of Denison's two relay teams. The 4x100 relay with Alesha Stewart, Ashley Putnam, Rose Schrott and Davis placed sixth in 52.28 and the 4x400 relay placed seventh with Ani Mutafova, Lianne McCluskey, Putnam and Davis logging a time of 4:13.85.
In the 3,000 meter steeplechase, Kirby Mosenthal picked up three points toward the Big Red cause with a sixth-place finish in 11:54.50. In the 1,500 meter run, Mutafova finished seventh in 4:59.25 and Julie Rotramel placed 10th.
Putnam returned to finish seventh in the 800 meters, crossing the finish line in 2:23.47 while Beth Armitage finishing ninth.
DU's scoring was closed out in the triple jump as Claire Navarro finished eighth with a jump of 31'4.25". Georgie Strohmenger placed 10th in the event.
