The Denison women's outdoor track and field team competed at the Kenyon Spring Invitational on Saturday in Gambier, Ohio.
Senior Kirby Mosenthal paced DU with a victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Mosenthal finished the event in 12:12.4. Junior Ani Mutafova finished third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:24.36, while senior Ashley Putnam logged a fourth-place finish in the 400-meter dash after crossing the line in 1:01.57. Michelle Clark was fifth in the 1,500 meters (5:03.35), while Christa Meyers logged a pair of top-5 finishes. Meyers took fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (17.81) and fifth in the long jump (14-04.83).
In the other field events, Ashlee Dickson was fifth in the pole vault after clearing 8-03.25, while Georgie Strohmenger finished in a tie for fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 29-00.42. The 4x400 relay team of Mutafova, Putnam, Beth Armitage and Ellen Fugate took third with a time of 4:22.33.
Denison returns to action on Friday (April 29) when they host the Big Red Invitational.
