Despite an abbreviated roster, the Denison men's track and field team posted a strong showing at the Purple and White Invitational hosted by Capital.
Sophomore Jonathan Brachna and senior Win Fox represented the Big Red very well in the 200 and 400-meter dash events. Brachna finished third in the 400-meter event and eighth in the 200 dash. The sophomore sprinter clocked in at 52.75 in the 400 and 24.02 in the 200. Fox posted a 9th-place finish (54.39) in the 400 dash and a 12th-place finish (25.09) in the 200 meters.
In the field events, senior Wendell Taylor posted top-20 finishes in both the shot put and the weight throw. The senior finished 16th in the shot put (39.03.50) and 20th in the weight throw (33.09.25).
The Big Red will take part in their first team competition at the Defiance College Alumni Invitational on Jan. 28.
