Senior Steven Gallego (Lyndhurst, N.J./New Canaan [Conn.]) won the shot put to pace the Denison Big Red at the 2011 Denison Lid-Lifter on Saturday afternoon in Granville.

Gallego won the event with a toss of 44-04.25, while junior Chris Roth (Milwaukee, Wis./University School of Milwaukee) logged a second-place finish in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.87.  Junior Pat Effinger (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington North) and sophomore Chad Kosanovich (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) recorded third-place finishes in the 400-meter dash and one-mine run, respectively.  Effinger finished the 400 in 53.66, while Kosanovich complete his race in 4:29.28.

The 4x200 and 4x400 men's relay squad finished second in their respective events.  The 4x200 team logged a time of 1:39.15, while the 4x400 group crossed the line at 3:35.17.

Denison returns to action on Saturday (Jan. 29) when they travel to Oberlin for the North Coast Athletic Conference Relays.
