The Denison women's outdoor track and field team competed at the 2010 Marv Frye Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio on Saturday afternoon.  The Big Red finished 13th at the meet with 14.50 points.

Denison was paced by junior Katie Navarre (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington), who finished third in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 18:14.89.  Fellow junior Ashley Putnam (North East, Pa./North East) also had a solid performance in the 800-meter event.  Putnam finished the race with a time of 2:25.32 which was good enough for sixth place.

In the field events, senior Emily Hammeren (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) logged a fifth-place finish in the pole vault after clearing 10-00.00.  Senior Emily Taylor (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) and sophomore Andrea Pion (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) finished eighth in the shot put and high jump, respectively.  Taylor recorded a distance of 35-01.25, while Pion cleared 4-09.50 in her event.

Denison returns to Delaware, Ohio on April 17 when they take part in the Division III All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
