MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Big Red women's soccer team improved to 2-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play behind a 3-0 win over Allegheny on Saturday afternoon. The win marked their third-straight shutout, running their string of consecutive scoreless minutes to 325 dating back to September 21.

Sophomore midfielder Meg Rogan broke the scoreless tie in the 28th minute with her first-career goal off an assist from Victoria Nielsen. Rogan's eventual game winner sent DU in to the intermission with a 1-0 edge. At the break, Denison held a 6-1 advantage in shots and attempted one more corner than the Gators (3-2).

In the 52nd minute, a pair of sophomores teamed up to double the Big Red lead. Reigning NCAC Player of the Week Abby King netted her team-leading fifth goal off an assist from classmate Katie Livingston. Roughly 16 minutes later, King shared the wealth when she helped senior Logan Agin find the back of the net for the second time in her career, and first time this season. Agin's insurance goal came at 67:41. In addition to leading the team in goals, King also has a team-high 12 points through 12 matches.

Sophomore Patil Tcholakian (82:27) and junior Maddie Coyne (7:33) shared time in net for Denison. Tcholakian picked up the win improving to 5-4-3. As a team, the Big Red has posted six shutouts in 2019. DU outshout Allegheny 11-4, including an 8-0 advantage in shots on frame.

Denison (5-4-3, 2-0-0 NCAC) returns to the pitch next Saturday (Oct. 12) when they travel to Gambier, Ohio to take on the Kenyon Ladies. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
